Portugal, before and after April – 49th anniversary of the revolution
5 May 2023

On 27 April, Professor António Teodoro made a communication in the Alcântara Library about the Carnation Revolution, the times of hope and the various social experiences that followed it.
This communication was part of the programme of the third workshop of the project Erasmus + Creative Commune, in which Lusófona University participates with several European entities linked to theatre and social history (La Transplanisphere; Compagnie Dies Irae; Association pour l’histoire vivante; Cergy Paris Université; Ex-Quorum; Teatro Rigodon, Comune di Rocca Sinibalda and SurMesure) and that aims to reflect and create artistically from the energy of the revolutions. In the various activities of this workshop, students from the degree courses in Education Sciences and Visual Arts and the Master in Arts Teaching also participated. Teachers Inês Marques, Célia Quico, Constança Vasconcelos and Marta Jecu were involved in the activities. Two interventions took place in the Library: Atravessar a Liberdade (Crossing Freedom) – a collective collage on the entrance doors, and Des-Censura (Un-censorship) – a panel with texts made from fragments of theatrical texts censored during the dictatorship. The National Museum of Theatre and Dance librarian, Dr Ana Sofia Patrão, was also invited to frame this last activity.
