Project Manager – CeiED | Ref. UID-4114-2025
Universidade Lusófona, through the Talent Management Department, intends to recruit a Project Manager, with financial support from FCT/MCTES through national funds (PIDDAC), under the funding reference UID-4114-2025. The position is part of the activities of the Research Unit CeiED – Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Education and Development.
Universidade Lusófona, with two campuses, one located in the centre of Lisbon and the other in the centre of Porto, is the largest private university in Portugal. An open call is being launched for a fixed-term, 12-month contract, renewable, for a candidate holding a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, within the scope of CeiED activities, under the following conditions:
Admission Requirements
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree[1];
- Training and/or proven experience in research project management;
- Oral and written proficiency in Portuguese and English;
- Knowledge of and experience with national and international R&D funding programmes;
- Leadership skills and strong motivation for teamwork, combining organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines;
- Communication skills and the ability to establish collaborative relationships with national and international partners;
- Problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, analyse and find solutions to technical, interpersonal or strategic challenges.
Work Plan
- Support for CeiED activities;
- Support for the organisation of dissemination, information and knowledge-transfer events within CeiED projects;
- Management of the process for regularly sharing information about available funding opportunities;
- Coordination and management of R&D projects, including technical support for contracts, budget management, communication with funding agencies, and implementation of nationally and internationally funded projects;
- Support for human resources recruitment and selection processes within projects;
- Data management and processing, report writing, and preparation of decision-support opinions.
Conditions of Employment
- Fixed-term contract of 12 months, renewable.
- The average monthly salary will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, in addition to a meal allowance.
- 35 hours per week, subject to compliance with the daily schedule, in accordance with applicable legislation and internal regulations.

Selection Method
a) Curricular assessment (60%)
Applications admitted to the competition will be assessed based on the quality, timeliness and relevance of the applicants’ professional curricula, as well as their suitability for the proposed work plan.
Criteria for Curricular Assessment
- Final classification in each academic degree;
- Proven knowledge of national legislation relating to higher education and science;
- Proven knowledge of national and international funding models for scientific research;
- Experience in human resources recruitment processes for R&D activities.
b) Interview
The interview will apply only to candidates ranked highest following the curricular assessment.
Interview (40%)
Criteria for Interview Assessment
- Interpersonal skills;
- Assessment of the suitability of the candidate’s career development plan in relation to CeiED’s needs, and vice versa;
- Analysis of experience through practical and direct questions designed to assess relevant knowledge.
