Researchers from CeiED participate in the Learning & Teaching Forum of EUA in Bilbao

The 6th edition of the Learning & Teaching Forum of the European University Association (EUA) took place between February 1st and 3rd, at the University of Deusto, Bilbao. The Lusófona University was represented by CeiED’s integrated researchers, Carla Galego and Elsa Estrela, who last year integrated the Peer Thematic Group (TPG) Digitally competent teachers in designing quality learning environments, of EUA, whose Final Report will be publicly released in March.

On the first day, open only to TPG members, the relevant themes were discussed in order to set up future thematic groups. Artificial Intelligence in Education was one of the themes that received more interest. On the second and third days, through a mix of plenary sessions and parallel sessions, the Forum promoted discussion and the exchange of experiences on how universities can improve learning and teaching, reinforcing the valorisation of teaching within the set of academic activities. The benefits of collaborative work in teaching practices and the existence of Learning and Teaching Centres in the context of Universities were highlighted.

The EUA Learning & Teaching Forum is a relevant space for monitoring current trends in the field of university teaching where the most distinct higher education institutions of the European space are represented and where policies to be suggested to the European Union are defined.
