The thematic dossier The Futures of Education: learning to sympathize, recently published in number 52 of the Revista Lusófona de Educação, whose guest editor was Professor Célio da Cunha, from the Catholic University of Brasília, was mentioned in one of the Brazilian newspapers of greater national circulation – Folha de São Paulo – as an important contribution to the debate on education, beyond the context of the Sars-Cov-2 pandemic.
The thematic dossier brings together a set of papers by thinkers from different parts of the world, who responded to RLE’s invitation to discuss the topic, on the occasion of the launch of UNESCO’s III International Report «Reimagining our futures together: a new social contract for education”.
From different perspectives and social contexts, the authors present their reflections on possible and desirable futures in education, on topics such as the role of Universities and Higher Education, the relevance of the State to ensure the right to citizenship, education in the anthropocene, advances in Neuroscience and its relationship with education, educational policies, among others.
