XIV Ibero-American Congress on the History of Education 2021

From July 20 to 23, the XIV Ibero-American Congress on the History of Education (CIHELA) took place. Paths of the History of Education.

Researcher José Viegas Brás was part of the Organizing Committee and CeiED was a partner institution in the Congress.

Besides the Organizing Committee, during the congress José Brás also had the following responsibilities

  • Coordinator of the Axis VII Table – Representations about childhood, XIV Ibero-American Congress of History of Education (CIHELA). Revolution, Modernity and Memory. Paths of the History of Education, room 5, July 22, 8.15-21.00h
  • Coordinator of the Round Table Axis I – Revolutions and Changes in Education, XIV Iberoamerican Congress on the History of Education (CIHELA). Revolution, Modernity and Memory. Paths in the History of Education, room 1, July 23, 2.30-15.15h
  • Member of the closing table of the Congress.
  • Co-authored a paper with colleague Maria Neves Gonçalves.

The following should also be noted about the Congress:

  • The total number of submissions of papers was 658, coming from 17 countries
  • The final number of registrations was 490, from 15 countries.
  • If we look at the 4 days of the Congress: 4 main conferences, 419 communications of authors from 10 countries distributed by:
  1. 70 parallel sessions from the 10 thematic axes
  2. 29 panels
  3. One round table.
