Margarida Frade Santos
Margarida Frade Santos is a PhD student in Education, specializing in Health Education, at the Faculty of Human Kinetics, University of Lisbon (FMH-UL). She is a member of the Institute of Environmental Health (ISAMB) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon, and the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Education and Development at Lusófona University. She holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Psychomotor Rehabilitation from FMH-UL. Her thesis focused on the implementation of a socio-emotional skills program for young people and young adults with antisocial and delinquent behaviors. Her PhD project is focused on promoting the mental health of children and young people during the pandemic.
She is a member of the European Network for Social and Emotional Competence (ENSEC) and the Junior Researchers from the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (JURE EARLI). She has collaborated on national and international projects focused on mental health, socio-emotional skills, behavior problems, resilience, giftedness, teacher training, and education. The projects she has been involved in include the PROMEHS – Promoting Mental Health at Schools project (2019-2022) as a research fellow, the ENRETE - Enhancing Resilience Through Teacher Education project (2016-2018) as a collaborator, the GIFTED – Games and Inclusion for Teacher Education project (2021-2024) as a researcher, and the RePeME - And After the Pandemic? Recovery, Permanences, and Changes in Basic Education in Portugal (2023-2024) project as a research assistant. She is currently a mixed-mode PhD scholarship holder from the Foundation for Science and Technology.
She is also a certified trainer, providing training to teachers, non-teaching staff, and other professionals in areas such as mental health, behavior problems, socio-emotional skills, and resilience.
