Leanete Thomas Dotta is an assistant researcher at the Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Education and Development (CeiED) at the Lusófona University and a member of the Scientific Council and Steering Committee of the same Centre. At CeiED, she also coordinates the Research and Learning Community (ReLeCo) Teacher Education, Professionalism, and Teaching Identities (ProFID). She is an external expert for the General Inspectorate of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education in the external evaluation processes of schools.

Leanete Thomas Dotta completed her Ph.D. in Education at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, Brazil, in 2010. In 2015, she obtained the equivalence of a Ph.D. in Educational Sciences at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCEUP), Portugal. She completed two postdoctoral studies in 2016 and 2018, respectively.

She is dedicated to teaching activities that are in line with her research career. In the context of training young researchers, she has supervised master's theses, doctoral theses, and post-doctoral theses related to the teaching profession. Although the teaching dimension of her work is currently limited to higher education and postgraduate studies, her teaching career began in primary and secondary education, levels of learning to which she remains connected through her research. She has also been the PI and Co-PI on 2 national projects on teacher professional development, one of which is still ongoing. Currently, she is a member of COST Action CA21141- Grassroots of Digital Europe: from Historic to Contemporary Cultures of Creative Computing (GRADE).
