Bachelor's degree in History, Specialist in Museology, Master's degree in Social History, and PhD in Archaeology. Since 2010, she has been a Full Professor in Museology at the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology of the University of São Paulo - MAE/USP. She is also the Vice Coordinator of the Interunits Graduate Program in Museology - PPGmus/USP.

At the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology of the University of São Paulo - MAE/USP, she served as the Director of the Museology Service (1992 to 1995); Head of the Cultural Diffusion Division (1995 to 1997); Coordinator of the Specialization Course in Museology (1999 to 2006); Member of the Postgraduate Committee in Archaeology (since 2004); Vice-Director of the Museum (2005 to 2009); Coordinator of the Interunits Graduate Program in Museology at USP (2012 to 2014); and Member of the Postgraduate Committee (since 2012); Member of the Deliberative Council (since 2013). Since 2011, she has been coordinating the LAPECOMUS/ Laboratory of Research in Museological Communication, articulating research lines: Museological Narratives and Scientific Diffusion and Memory of Paulista Museology, and supervising post-doctoral projects. Since 2018, she has been a member of the External Monitoring Committee of the UNESCO-UHLT Chair in Education, Citizenship, and Cultural Diversity. 

She is an author and also responsible for organizing books and articles in specialized journals, a member of cultural institution councils, and provides consultancy to museums and memorials for the elaboration of museological plans and exhibition projects. She coordinates the CNPq Research Group - "Musealization of Archaeology '' and is a CNPq/ Productivity Fellow (2019 - 2025). She is a member of the International Council of Museums / ICOM, and integrates the Advisory Committee of ICOFOM (Senior Advisor Committee - Committee for Museology since 2013). She participates in the Network of Museums and Collections of Archaeology and Ethnology / REMAAE, the Network of Teachers and Researchers in Museology of the Permanent Forum of University Museums, and the Forum of Archaeological Collections of the Brazilian Archaeology Society. In 2021, she received the Waldisa Rússio Camargo Guarnieri Museological Merit Medal from the Government of São Paulo.

She coordinated, between 2009 and 2014, the academic agreement between the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology of the University of São Paulo - MAE/USP and the Universidade Lusófona de Lisboa, participating in the Graduate Program in Museology, teaching seminars, and supervising dissertations and theses.
