
Suzana Isabel Luz
Suzana Isabel Pacheco Rocha da Luz is a PhD candidate in Education at Lusófona University – Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Education and Development (CeiED), where she is part of ReLeCo 6 – Social and Educational Mediation. She holds a degree in Education, with a specialisation in Social Pedagogy and Training, and a Master’s degree in Social Education.
Her research focuses on social mediation in school contexts and its contribution to inclusion, democratic coexistence and educational success, particularly in socially vulnerable territories. Her PhD project analyses mediation practices in two lower secondary schools in Portimão, seeking to understand how the articulation between school, family, community and social support services can contribute to the prevention, management and transformation of conflicts.
Professionally, she works as a Senior Officer at Portimão City Council in the field of social intervention, coordinating the Social Support and Assistance Service (SAAS) and the Local Inclusion Unit (NLI). Her professional experience has focused on supporting individuals and families in situations of vulnerability, interinstitutional cooperation and network-based intervention.
Her academic interests include social and educational mediation, school mediation, inclusion, social justice, public education policies and socio educational intervention, with the aim of linking scientific research and professional practice. This profile reflects a sustained concern with the relationship between education, social action and community development.
