At the intersection of Science and Technology Week and Black Awareness Week, we propose a public science event focused on everyday and epistemic racism in contemporary Portugal.
During this event, preliminary results of the survey "Everyday Racism in Portugal", conducted as part of the AGRRIN project - Generating Bodies: From Aggression to Insurgency, will be presented and discussed.
Additionally, this event aims to reflect on how academic knowledge has contributed to the reproduction of imaginaries about race/racism and (de)coloniality in contemporary Portugal.
The event will take place on Friday, November 22, at 3:00 PM, in room U.0.12 at Universidade Lusófona. To participate, please register using this link.
The AGRRIN project aims to map and analyze everyday processes of racism and insurgency in contemporary Portugal, specifically by (i) understanding the expressions of everyday racism, (ii) identifying how affirmative actions of reaction and resistance develop, and (iii) proposing contributions toward the construction of a decolonial pedagogy.
