11th Meeting of CeiED Researchers

It is taking place since Wednesday, July 14, online, through the Zoom platform, the 11th Meeting of CeiED’s Researchers, entitled “From citizen scientist to citizen science: crossed looks in the construction of knowledge”. This annual meeting is not only an important moment of knowledge sharing among the scientific community of the Centre, but also a reminder of the relevance of our individual efforts and our collective contribution to a science focused on the common good, cognitive justice and citizenship.

The first day of the event was attended by over 120 participants who watched the Opening Session by CeiED’s Scientific Director, Dr. António Teodoro and the Opening Conference “Which knowledge and for whom? Dilemmas of the promotion of civic participation from a citizen science perspective”, given by the speaker Giovanni Allegretti, University of Coimbra, CES

On the second day of the event, those registered for the interdisciplinary practical activity (hackathon) What can we do together? worked together through a collaborative platform to respond to the challenge: the dilemma so close/so far. The five teams overcame various challenges throughout the day and followed several steps to identify a problem and its solution. At the end of the day the teams presented their ideas in 3 minutes in front of an interdisciplinary jury that will deliberate and evaluate the groups’ solutions and the winner will be announced on 16 July at the closing session of the event.

Thank you to all participants and have a great event!
