The annual seminar on Research in Urban Planning successfully took place on the 5th of May 2021 as an online event, gathering people from Portugal, Angola, Canada, Cape Verde, Germany, Iran and US.

The Seminar, organised by the Experimental Lab of Education and Public Space- L3EP and the ARQ-ID opened a forum for PhD and Master’s students in Urban Planning of Universidade Lusófona to discuss their research. Following the opening session by Professor Diogo Mateus, coordinator of the Master’s and PhD programmes in Urban Planning, all together 15 studies, scheduled around the themes i) advances in urban governance; ii) transport systems in cities; iii) transformation-reconversion of spaces, and iv) urban-nature links, were presented and lively discussed in four debates arenas. The seminar was moderated by Mohammed Boubezari (Professor) and Sandrinne Simon (CeiED researcher) and also attended by professors and supervisors. Switching between Portuguese, English and French the participants made from this Seminar not only a scientific but a coming together event. As stressed by Prof. Mateus, this seminar, although online, is the re-opening of scheduled activities, after a long confinement period, and the enthusisatic attendance reinforces the will to keep on consolidating the research community at Lusófona.

We look already forward to the next event!
