André Freitas stands out in the Stimulus for Individual Scientific Employment Competition

André Freitas, Integrated Researcher at CeiED, came 2nd in the Education Sciences panel of the 6th Edition of the Stimulus to Individual Scientific Employment Competition, organised by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). The final results of the competition were published on 24 May 2024.

The research contract began in September 2024 and will last until 2030. Her project, entitled ‘Future-oriented Stories of Digital Schools’ Capital: imagining times, places and sociabilities of education’ (2023.08557.CEECIND), will be funded under the aforementioned programme.

The project presented focuses on literacies for the future of education, addressing the lived experiences of teachers and students in basic education, with special attention to digitisation processes in schools. The research proposes a narrative approach, analysing how digitisation is constituted as cultural production in the educational context. The project thus aims to propose new ideas about school capital in order to prepare education for the challenges of the future.

The Stimulus Competition for Individual Scientific Employment, promoted by the FCT, aims to support and fund researchers who stand out in their fields of study, guaranteeing the continuity and excellence of scientific research in Portugal.
