On 31 March, the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) held, in Coimbra, the 3rd scientific conference of the FCT 25th Anniversary Celebrations programme under the theme “Scientific Employment and Scientific Careers”.

The session took place in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Coimbra, and was attended by the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Elvira Fortunato.

The session opened with speeches by the President of the Board of Directors of FCT, Helena Pereira, and the Rector of the University of Coimbra, Amílcar Falcão.

Several perspectives on the theme of Scientific Employment in Portugal, as well as in other countries, were discussed. There was also a discussion table dedicated to the theme “Scientific Careers”, in which the Researcher Carla Galego participated, explaining how the careers of Professor and Researcher can interconnect.

The session was closed by the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education.
