The Citizen Science Doctoral College CeiED was represented by researcher Lucimar Dantas at the 2024 EUA-CDE Annual Meeting , which took place on 26, 27 and 28 July at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Barcelona. The theme of the meeting was The role of data in shaping Doctoral Education, which was discussed in various ways, from plenary lectures, parallel communication sessions, fishbowls and 3-minute themed presentations.
Among the topics discussed were the fundamental role of data in the strategic development of doctoral education, the duration and completion rates of doctoral programmes, Artificial Intelligence and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable) data training.
In addition, the EUA-CDE organised a session dedicated to the presentation of a report by the Thematic Peer Group on institutional support for post-doctoral researchers and stimulated an exchange between participants on how to successfully promote this type of support in European universities.
In addition to the working sessions, the event's organisers promoted many networking moments among the participants, at the various coffee breaks, lunches, the gala dinner and a guided tour of the Sant Pau Modernist Enclosure, where the dinner was held.
The EUA-CDE Annual Meeting is one of the largest and most comprehensive gatherings of academic leaders, senior academics, doctoral education professionals, postdoctoral researchers, doctoral candidates and other people working in doctoral education and research. The CeiED Citizen Science Doctoral College is a member of the EUA-CDE and has actively participated in its activities since 2021.
