12 september 2024
Researchers Elsa Estrela and Susana Oliveira represented CeiED and Universidade Lusófona at the European Conference on Educational Research (ECER), organised by the European Education Research Association (EERA), at the University of Cyprus in Nicosia, where they contributed to various networks.
As part of the Emerging Researchers' Conference (ERC), which took place on 26 and 27 August, doctoral student Susana Oliveira took part in a session in which she presented her doctoral project. She also took part in a session on network 23, Policy Studies and Politics of Education, in which she presented a study also related to her project, especially with regard to teaching professionalism.
Integrated researcher Elsa Estrela took part in a session of network 10, Teacher Education Research, in which she gave two presentations related to the project she directs, Act4Wbeing. In the first, she presented the project's problems, as well as some of the data resulting from the analysis carried out. In the second, together with Susana Oliveira, she presented the results of the systematic literature review based on the main concepts involved in the project. She also moderated two sessions of the same network on different issues: social justice in teaching professionalism and teachers and technology.
These were intense days of fruitful contacts and intellectual discussion, but also of happy encounters, such as those between members of the Board of the Portuguese Society of Educational Sciences, of which researcher Elsa Estrela is a member.
ECER was organised by the European Education Research Association (EERA), which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Considered to be the largest European congress on education, ECER was attended by more than 2,300 researchers from 71 countries, who together discussed issues based on the common theme Education in an Age of Uncertainty: memory and hope for the future.
