CeiED Researcher Completes Postdoctoral Studies at Paris-Saclay University
Teresa Teixeira Lopo, researcher at CeiED, co-director of OP.Edu – Observatory for Education and Training Policies, and Assistant Professor at Lusófona University – University Centre of Lisbon, has completed her postdoctoral studies at Paris-Saclay University.
The postdoctoral contract, awarded to the researcher in 2024 through a competitive international selection process, enabled her to develop work with two complementary strands. The first strand involved the development of a research project on the influence of the intergovernmental Bologna Process on the adoption of pedagogical innovation practices in higher education. More specifically, starting from the hypothesis that the architecture of the Bologna Process encouraged the establishment of a hegemonic pedagogical paradigm, the project sought to understand to what extent – and at what levels – Bologna discourses on pedagogical innovation consider (or not) their appropriation by actors in the field.
The research plan, carried out entirely in France, followed a comparative case study methodology, combining data triangulation from document analysis, institutional discourse analysis, and semi-structured interviews. The final results will be presented next year at the Villebon-Georges Charpak Institute, which hosted the project.
The second strand of the postdoctoral work involved supporting teams of teachers and researchers in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in the design, development, and evaluation of exploratory and action-research projects in the field of pedagogical innovation, implemented across various programmes and levels of higher education.
In parallel, the researcher also had the opportunity to organise and lead workshops and lectures on educational research methodologies, scientific publishing, and pedagogical innovation, within an international and interdisciplinary environment strongly committed to the advancement of science.
Established in 2019 as the successor to Paris-Sud University, Paris-Saclay University now includes ENS – École Normale Supérieure, CentraleSupélec, Institut d’Optique, and AgroParisTech, as well as the Universities of Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and Évry-Val-d’Essonne.
Paris-Saclay University is ranked among the top 80 universities worldwide in the QS World University Rankings 2026, 64th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025, and 12th in the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2024.
