The researchers Rosa Serradas Duarte and Vítor Teodoro contributed with a chapter on Higher Education in Portugal to the book “Graduating around the Globe: PROTOCOLS, PRINCIPLES, AND TRADITIONS FOR PHD GRADUATIONS EXAMPLES FROM THE LEARNING SCIENCES”, organized by Professor Doctor Ton de Jong.
The book aims to highlight the procedures and traditions that PhD students have to follow in each country. With this overview, we understand the differences and similarities between the various national education systems.
Our researchers refer to the changes that have occurred since 2006 with the Bologna Process, in restructuring the application process and requirements for obtaining the doctoral degree, and present statistical data on applicants in Portugal.
