The Network of Universities dedicated to the studies of Cultures held, from 5th to 7th December 2022, the VIII International Congress on Cultures, at the University of Minho, with the theme “Cultures of Resistance”, in a hybrid format.
In the congress, papers were presented by researchers from Portugal, Brazil, Spain, Colombia, Mozambique and Angola, which promoted the debate on the role of cultures, interpreted as critical, counter-hegemonic and open to new cultural possibilities, in the resistance processes that challenge the power structures in various national contexts.
On the occasion, the Lusófona University and CeiED were represented by the doctoral student Felisberto Kiluange Costa, who presented the communication entitled “Decolonization of the training curriculum of leaders of the Angolan Armed Forces: between the influences of neoliberalism and local traditional culture”, which pointed to the African philosophy ubuntu as a possible alternative.
