Doctoral College of Citizen Science at the 2022 US-CDE Annual Meeting

The Citizen Doctoral College was represented at the annual meeting of the Council for Doctoral Education of the European Universities Association (EUA-CDE) held in Manchester on 22, 23 and 24 June. The experiences of the first year of operation of the CDCC were presented in the parallel session Preparing for the doctorate, along with experiences of doctoral schools from universities in Germany and the Netherlands.

The event brought together representatives of universities from several European Union countries around the theme Time and Timing in Doctoral Education. Among the most discussed subjects in the plenary and parallel sessions,

They were the different ways of organising the time of doctoral programmes, thesis supervision, digitalisation, the role of doctoral schools as fundamental structures for supporting doctoral education, funding and the skills needed by researchers.

During the Meeting, the report Building the Foundations of Research. A Vision for the Future of Doctoral Education in Europe which brings a compilation of 10 central themes for Doctoral Education in the next 10 years.
