FCT Educational Science Panel visits CeiED facilities

On January 10, the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Education and Development (CeiED) hosted the visit of the Educational Science Panel of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) at Lusófona University -
Lisbon University Center. The primary goal of the visit was to evaluate the research and development activities conducted by CeiED, as well as to strengthen collaboration between the institution and FCT.
During the visit, the FCT panel members were received by the CeiED coordination team, led by its Director, António Teodoro, and had the opportunity to tour the center's facilities, including the researchers' and PhD students' workspaces. The evaluators also had the chance to see the exhibition "Education as the Practice of Freedom - Paulo Freire" and view the panels of the exhibit "No Estamos Todas?", curated by the Department of Museology. The main ongoing projects of the center were also presented, with a focus on contributions to the fields of education, teacher training, sociomuseology, and community development.
CeiED researchers also highlighted internationally significant initiatives, such as the EDU-LAB and HIGHRES projects, underscoring the impact of their research in promoting innovative educational practices and formulating evidence-based public policies.
The visit was also an opportunity for the Educational Science Panel to understand the challenges faced by the center and discuss strategies for the continuation and expansion of its activities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, FCT representatives emphasized the importance of the work carried out by CeiED, highlighting the essential role of the center in generating knowledge and training professionals in the fields of education and museology. The visit ended with the expectation that strengthening the partnership between CeiED and FCT will lead to new advancements in the fields of education and museology sciences in Portugal.
