The meeting promoted by ICOM Europe (International Council of Museums - European Committee) in 2023 will take place in Lisbon and is organised in partnership with the Museology Department of Universidade Lusófona.

The International Seminar "Bridging the gap between Museums and Communities: the role of communication and education" will take place at the Museu Nacional dos Coches, Lisbon, on 2nd and 3rd October 2023.

The central idea of the International Seminar is to bring together experiences and research projects on how communities can be co-producers of knowledge, bringing together ICOM members not only from Europe, but also from around the world, in order to develop skills, learn and share experiences on how museums can engage with different communities through communication and education.

The expected audience focuses on ICOM Members dedicated to museum mediation, teaching and the study of museums, as well as communication, education and heritage professionals.

The event is also being organised in partnership with ICOM Portugal, ICOM Georgia, ICOM Croatia and the National Coach Museum.
