Participation of CeiED’s researchers in the Critical Thinking Day

The Lusófona University, together with other national higher education institutions, participated in the 3rd Edition of the Critical Thinking Day. The event took place on April 28th and counted with the participation of several CeiED doctoral students and the researchers Elsa Estrela, Carla Galego, Lucimar Dantas, Rosa Serradas Duarte and the researcher Vítor Teodoro in the organisation and facilitation of the programmed activities.
The meeting is based on a “competition of ideas” through Critical and Creative Thinking in the resolution of real problems. With a very practical approach, the participants worked, in groups, on three different scenarios – Gender Equality: Act, Intervene, Get there?!; Democratic Participation in Society; and (Un)Information: Facts, Truths and Confusion. With the help of the experts Joana Teixeira (APL), Alexandra Aníbal (CML), Susana Nina (FCSEA) e Teresa Oliveira (WL Partners) and professors of Veterinary Medicine, the groups followed various stages with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of critical and creative thinking in today’s world, fostering the practice of critical and creative thinking, in a systematic and structured way, and proving support in solving real problems and making decisions. The day was a day of discussion and sharing between participants from various areas and different academic degrees, contributing to the heterogeneity of the proposals.
At the end of the day, the participants presented proposals and elected the representatives of Universidade Lusófona for the national competition, which will take place on 21 May, in an online model, and will select the national winners.
