The second Research Seminar in Urban Planning in 2021 has been organised on 8 November in celebration of World Urbanism Day. The online event brought together researchers, academics and students from Angola, Brazil, Iran, Portugal and Spain to share experiences on spatial planning.
The event was opened with a welcoming remark by Prof Dr Diogo Mateus (coordinator of the PhD Programme) while Prof Dr Eduardo Rojas (University of Pennsylvania) with a reflection on “The Sustainable Preservation of the Urban Heritage: A New Frontier in City Governance in Latin America” brought the Seminar to close.
The PhD student Nagayamma Aragão, co-coordinator of the research group CIDATE discussed her research on “Developing a Management Model for Informal Public Transport in São Tomé”.
The seminar, organized by Prof Dr Mohammed Boubezari, is in line with the strategic approach of the Doctoral Programme that aims at enriching the curriculum through debates and reflection on contemporary issues.
