“The Future of Education in Debate”, dedicated to 40 years of the Basic Law of the Education System: between legacy and possible futures, has received the High Patronage of His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic.
Taking place in October 2026 in Lisbon, Funchal, Évora and Porto, the initiative aims to foster a plural and critical reflection on the development of education policies in Portugal since 1986, as well as on the challenges facing the future of education.
The seminar will bring together researchers, teachers, students, early-career researchers, education professionals, institutional leaders and policy-makers, contributing to public debate on the democratic legacy of the Basic Law and its possible futures.
For the Lisbon seminar, which will take place on 14 and 15 October 2026, the call for papers is open until 10 July 2026, covering the themes outlined in the respective call for communications.
