Kick-off meeting Erasmus + Family-based Open Science Schooling
From February 12 to 14, in Finland, it took place the kick-off meeting of Erasmus + Family-Based Open Science Schooling project. Capacity and Guidance Building in Secondary Schools for Involving Youg Students ’Families in Open Science Schooling Activities. This meeting was attended by researchers from Finland, the coordinateur country; Portugal; Lithuania; Greece; Poland; Turkey and Bulgaria. CEIED researchers Sónia Vladimira Correia and Filipa Lourenço were present at this working meeting.
UTAD Training “Promote critical thinking in my course”
On the 7th and 8th of February, was held the UTAD Training Course “Promote critical thinking in my class”. This course was attended by professors from different higher education institutions, including professors from the Lusophone University who are part of the OECD team in the project “Promoting and evaluating creativity and critical thinking skills in Higher Education” (Fostering and assessing students’ creativity and critical thinking skills in higher education). Among these professors was the CeiED Researcher, Sónia Vladimira Correia.

Carlos Smaniotto Costa’s participation – Thematic Dialogue 2019 – Unfolding dilemmas in urban public space development and maintenance: Consequences for policy and research and innovation
Carlos Smaniotto Costa, coordinator of the C3Places European Project, participated in in the workshop Unfolding dilemmas in urban public space development and maintenance: Consequences for policy and research and innovation (Riga / Latvia on 20-21 November 2019) which is part of a series of events organized by JPI UrbanEurope – program where the C3Places Project is framed – to assess the experiences of the various projects funded by JPI UrbanEurope, and also how JPI UrbanEurope should respond to the challenges of the new community program Horizon Europe.
Kickoff meeting > COST Action Dynamics of placemaking and digitization in Europe´s cities
Researcher Carlos Smaniotto Costa, member of the COST action Dynamics of Placemaking science committee, attended the first meeting of the network on 21.11.19 in Brussels. This network follows the same line of research as the CyberParks and C3Places projects coordinated by CeiED and as a whole – albeit with different objectives – aimed at improving the citizen involvement in urban planning and design, urban space organization and construction, as well as local knowledge remodeling and reinventing urban space.
