Community School Museums [COSMUS]

Changing the world requires one step at a time. The COSMUS project is the first step in this process, by way of teaching the participants knowledge of diverse cultures and an understanding of how to live together, in a perspective of global citizenship.

Objectives

  • To develop strategies of social integration, intercultural understanding, a sense of belonging and of valuing people. These strategies are achieved in the contexts of school, community and the city.
  • To promote formal and non-formal learning processes through transference of skills, digital literacy, ICT and multimedia, as well as communication in both native and foreignlanguages.
  • Promoting the capacity for social and civic responsibility and entrepreneurship in cultural, aesthetic and artistic environments.
  • To satisfy the needs of training and learning of teachers and pupils in a meaningful way and at the level where there is flexibility in the approach of the application of the curriculum. This is achieved through collaborative work, as a team or independently, by sharing and building knowledge responsibly as well as through a logic of innovation, creativity and problem solving.

At the invitation of the Project coordination, the intervention of the Department of Museology/CeiED consisted of coordinating training actions with the schools involved in the project.
