EQuaP Project: Enhancing QUAlity in early childhood education and care through Participation

The EQuaP project is an international project that focuses on the idea that the participation and involvement of parents and guardians should be recognized as key components in building quality Early Childhood Education. This project, funded internationally (Erasmus+ Program of the European Commission), began in September 2015 and aims to contribute to the improvement of Early Childhood Education quality in Europe through an increased recognition of the importance of quality relationships between families and educators.

To achieve this overall objective, specific goals have been established, such as: identifying, testing, and adopting as a model the best practices and innovative methods of participation, particularly in contexts of diversity (socioeconomic, cultural, minorities, etc.); developing educators' skills regarding strategies and approaches for family involvement, leveraging the experiences of other European countries; increasing the integration and interaction of the different components of the system (children, professionals, researchers, families, and the community); addressing parental involvement in Early Childhood Education as a process based on appropriate quality indicators.
