Maria Constança Vasconcelos has been an Associate Professor at Universidade Lusófona since 2001, coordinating the Master's programs in Visual Arts Education since 2008, teaching Visual Arts Didactics and Research Methodologies. She has been responsible for the Supervised Practice in the Master's program in Visual Arts Education since 2009. She serves as the editor of the Visual Arts Dossier for the Revista Lusófona da Educação since 2014. She is a researcher at CeiED (Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development) at Universidade Lusófona - Lisboa and participates in ReLeCo Socio-Artistic Studies for Decoloniality and Sustainability [ART.DS]. She also participates in the Public Science Forum.

She holds a degree in architecture from the Lisbon School of Fine Arts and obtained her Ph.D. in the same area from the University of Salford, United Kingdom (2001). She was a visual arts teacher in primary and secondary education until 2001.

Maria Constança Vasconcelos has publications in the areas of arts, drawing, design, arts education, and teacher training. She participates in the organization of conferences, seminars, and workshops in the field of arts and its education.

She participates in the MUSDIS project - The Museologic Dispositive as Communication Means. She is also involved in the MUBIESUS project - Public science and educational paths for sustainability in museums and libraries in Lisbon and São Paulo.
