
Willian Costa Souza
Willian Costa Souza holds a Master’s degree in Educational Sciences from the University of Porto and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from UniSociesc, with a background that bridges technology, pedagogy, and inclusion. He also completed a postgraduate degree in Psychopedagogy, which deepened his understanding of learning processes.
With nearly ten years of experience as an English teacher, he works primarily with adult learners, promoting the critical and creative use of digital technologies in multicultural and hybrid environments. He has taught students from diverse countries and backgrounds and has led educational projects focused on learner autonomy and digital inclusion.
His technical background includes five years as a web developer, which enables him to integrate digital tools into education in meaningful ways.
His academic contributions include the publication of the article “The Importance of Epistemological Reflection in the Pedagogical Act”, in the Brazilian Journal of Education, Technology and Society (2024), and its previous presentation at IJUP – University of Porto (2023), where it was awarded. He also participated in the 2015 Pedagogy Congress in Cuba with a talk on technology and language learning autonomy, and in a digital inclusion project at UniSociesc (2014), teaching adults with low digital literacy.
His international experience includes volunteer work in Morocco (2016) and as a volunteer English teacher for Polish students (2020), which strengthened his commitment to innovative, ethical, and socially engaged pedagogical practices.
He is currently a research fellow in the project EDU-LAB – European Youth in Education and in Transition to the Labour Market.
