Abstract

The research intends, from the educational approach of Biesta (AEB), to understand the perception of the epistemological principles of the teacher's profile in the process of educational change started in Portugal in 2017 with the publication of the Profile of Students Leaving Compulsory Education (PASEO). Together with other documents, the key competencies that prepare students for economic and sustainable development are explained and the impact that the guiding documents for Curricular Autonomy and Flexibility have on the teacher's decision-making space and on the construction of their professionalism. It is a socio-critical approach to understand the principles and values of the current public school teaching model, the meaning of the key competencies present in the curriculum documents, their relationship with awareness, critical thinking, and participation in the transformation of the world. The study will seek to contribute to the construction of an alternative educational agenda, promoting education in school for all, based on subjectification, socialization, and qualification.
