Within the scope of the above-mentioned call, we inform that, in accordance with the referenced notice, four (4) applications were received.

- After analyzing the documentation submitted with the applications, the Evaluation Panel decided that all candidates would proceed to the curricular assessment phase. The following preliminary results were awarded:

- Considering the results and the possibility described in the notice, the Evaluation Panel decided to interview, on 12/05/2025, the three highest-scoring candidates, in order to obtain information regarding professional behaviors directly related to the skills considered essential for the role. Thus, within the scope of the above-mentioned applications, the candidates selected for the scholarship award are: Felisberto Costa and Willian Costa Souza.
In case of appeal, candidates may submit a written statement within a maximum period of 10 working days from the date of receipt of the respective communication. If none of the aforementioned candidates submits any objection within the legal deadline, the decision will become final.

A call is now open for awarding two (2) Research Grants for Master's degree holders, within the scope of the project EDU-LAB - European Youth in Education and in Transition to the Labour Market, reference CeiED- EDU-LAB- 101177428 funded by the Horizon Europe Programme, under the activities of the Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Education and Development – CeiED. The call is open under the following conditions:
Scientific Area: Social Sciences or Educational Sciences
Admission Requirements
Mandatory requirements:
Candidates must meet the following mandatory requirements:
- Academic qualification: Master's degree in Social Sciences or Education Sciences;
- Proficient command of the Portuguese language;
- Written and oral fluency in English;
- Theoretical and empirical knowledge of research methods;
- Experience in research, data collection, and organisation;
- Experience in qualitative data analysis.
Preferred requirements:
- Enrolment in a PhD programme in Social Sciences or Education (at the time of contract signing). This requires the candidate to have the project's lead researcher as their (co-)supervisor;
- Knowledge and/or experience in working closely with young people;
- Experience in research projects;
- Experience in using software for qualitative data analysis (e.g., NVivo/MaxQDA).
Work Plan
- a) Participation in national and international working meetings within the project's activities;
b) Assisting in conducting focus groups and workshops with young people to explore their educational and professional trajectories;
c) Analysing and synthesising data collected from focus groups and workshops;
d) Supporting the preparation of project progress and final reports;
e) Assisting in organising scientific activities planned within the project;
f) Participating in dissemination and outreach activities.
Legislation and Applicable Regulations
The scholarship is awarded under Law no. 40/2004 of 18 August (Research Fellowship Statute), as amended by Decree-Law no. 123/2019, the Regulations for Research Fellowships of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) (Regulation no. 950/2019 of 16 December), and the Research Fellowship Regulations of Universidade Lusófona.
Workplace
The research activities will be carried out at the Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Education and Development (CeiED), Universidade Lusófona - Porto Campus, under the scientific supervision of Dr João Filipe Matos (Principal Investigator of the EDU-LAB Project).
Scholarship Duration
The scholarship will have a duration of 12 months (including a four-month probation period), starting on 2 May 2025. The contract may be renewed for equal or different periods, depending on the project's financial availability and scientific needs.
Monthly Maintenance Allowance
The scholarship amount is €1,309.64, in accordance with the FCT Research Fellowship values (see: FCT Scholarship Table 2025). This amount includes voluntary social security (if opted for by the fellow) and personal accident insurance.
Scholarships will be paid monthly via bank transfer.
The research fellow must dedicate themselves exclusively to the research, in accordance with Article 5 of the Research Fellowship Statute.
Selection Methods
Candidates will be selected by a jury consisting of:
- Dr Filomena Parada (Principal Investigator, EDU-LAB)
- Dr João Filipe Matos (Researcher, EDU-LAB Project)
- Dr Lucimar Dantas (Researcher, EDU-LAB Project)
Selection will be based on curriculum assessment (75%), which may be complemented by an interview (25%). If no interviews are conducted, the curriculum assessment will account for 100% of the final evaluation.
If an interview is to be conducted:
- Native Portuguese speakers will be interviewed in English.
- Native English speakers will be interviewed in Portuguese.
- Candidates with a different native language will be interviewed in both Portuguese and English.
Publication and Notification of Results
The final results will be published in a ranking list, displayed in a visible and public location at CeiED, and on the CeiED website.
Candidates have 10 working days from the publication date to submit an appeal.
Selected candidates will be notified via email.
Application Period and Submission
The call is open from 28 March 2025 to 11 April 2025.

- Proof of enrolment in a degree or non-degree course
If these documents are not submitted within the deadline, the selection committee may:
- Extend the deadline;
- Offer the position to another candidate;
- Leave the position unfilled.
