5 may 2025

May 5, Universidade Lusófona – Centro Universitário Lisboa hosted the event “Humanities and New Technologies,”

which encouraged a critical reflection on the connections between the humanities and the technological world. At a time when the boundaries between these fields are becoming increasingly blurred, the event aimed to create an interdisciplinary space for dialogue on the challenges and opportunities that arise from this interaction.

The event featured a diverse program of conferences and roundtable discussions throughout the day. One of the highlights was the talk “AI and the University,” delivered by Professor Manuel José Damásio, who addressed the impact of artificial intelligence on higher education and the opportunities these technologies offer for the advancement of learning and knowledge.

The meeting also included the participation of CeiED Director António Teodoro and researcher Lucimar Dantas, who offered valuable insights into the contemporary challenges facing the humanities, particularly in the context of social and educational transformations mediated by emerging technologies.
