On May 27, an Open Lecture was held on the topic “Community Groups for Building More Sustainable and Inclusive Communities,” featuring Professor Rogério Roque Amaro (ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon) as the guest speaker.
With over 30 years of research and engagement in social processes across various regions—including Lisbon, northern Portugal, and Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP)—Professor Roque Amaro shared his extensive experience and insights on the development of Community Groups.
The lecture covered four key aspects:
- The historical perspective of Community Groups;
- Their development over time and current situation;
- A brief theoretical framework;
- The main achievements and ongoing challenges.
This event was part of the Bachelor’s degree program in Educational Sciences – Social Education and the Master’s programs in Educational Sciences, organized by Margarida Belchior and Maria Odete Emygdio da Silva.
