Open Lecture Explores Community Groups and Building More Sustainable and Inclusive Communities

On May 27, an Open Lecture was held on the topic “Community Groups for Building More Sustainable and Inclusive Communities,” featuring Professor Rogério Roque Amaro (ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon) as the guest speaker.

With over 30 years of research and engagement in social processes across various regions—including Lisbon, northern Portugal, and Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP)—Professor Roque Amaro shared his extensive experience and insights on the development of Community Groups.

The lecture covered four key aspects:

  1. The historical perspective of Community Groups;
  2. Their development over time and current situation;
  3. A brief theoretical framework;
  4. The main achievements and ongoing challenges.

This event was part of the Bachelor’s degree program in Educational Sciences – Social Education and the Master’s programs in Educational Sciences, organized by Margarida Belchior and Maria Odete Emygdio da Silva.
