CoARA (Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment) plays a key role in transforming research assessment practices across Europe. Its mission is to promote a fairer, more inclusive system that focuses on the real impact of scientific output.
CoARA brings together over 700 organisations — including universities, foundations, funding agencies, and scientific societies — that signed the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment in July 2022. This document outlines ten core commitments, guided by principles such as trust in qualitative peer review and the responsible use of quantitative metrics.
In the video, the researchers discuss recent developments, the formation of working groups, and the involvement of European Union stakeholders, emphasizing that these reforms are already being implemented across institutions in Europe and beyond.
We invite everyone to watch the video and explore how this agenda for change can be integrated in the Portuguese context.
