The Proceedings of the “International Journey of Education and its Multiple Readings: Art, Ethics, Subjectivities”, organized by Sônia Aparecida Siquelli, Francine Alves dos Reis Loureiro and Francisca de Paula Toledo Monteiro, was sponsored by CeiED. This event took place between 5 and 7 July 2018 in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, Brazil.

On November 2, 2018 the 100th thesis in the scope of the Doctoral Program in Education was defended. Dr. Cristina Maria Paulo Pessoa, who presented the thesis “Leadership in the School of Today. Essencial Skills to the Leadership of the School Director” was approved, having as advisor Professor Óscar C. Sousa.

On October 19, 2018, the communication “Critical Discourse Analysis: between Journalism and Education” was presented at the 3rd World Conference on Qualitative Research, written by Ana Sofia António and António Teodoro.

On October 31 2018 (14h00-18h30), a session will be held at the Thalia Theater, in Lisbon, to discuss scientific and technological activity in Portugal by researchers within the scope of the Scientific Employment Stimulus Program. The CeiED Researcher Judite Primo, who won a contract as a Principal Investigator in the Individual Scientific Employment Contest, was invited to participate in the panel “Challenges: to plan R & D activity in face of the challenges of sustainable development.” Registration for the event can be held here.

In an interview with TSF on October 29, 2018, the Scientific Coordinator of CeiED and the first leader of FENPROF, Professor António Teodoro, affirmed that the teachers’ struggle for total recovery of time (9 years, 4 months and 2 days ) in which they have not progressed in careers is “unassailable” and will continue until this or the next governments end up giving in.

On October 18, 2018, a meeting was held at Lusófona University, with the purpose of discussing the Phd Program in Education.
