COST Action: CIRCUL’ARTs (Connecting Critical Pedagogies, Inclusive Art Forms and Alternative Barometers for Urban Sustainability)
The COST PROJECT CIRCUL’ARTs develops and applies a new methodology of working in the field of circular economy, namely through the systematic involvement of artistic practices and the development of de-colonising strategies.
Creativity, diversity and inclusion are key to develop practices of solidarity economics, participatory governance and local narratives – that can contribute to more circular and sustainable cities.
The project will be combining and integrating theories and methodological approaches from different disciplines social sciences, critical pedagogies, architecture, urban design, sustainability studies, decolonial studies and the arts and expand our knowledge to geographical regions that have been less studied – through including participants from COST Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITCs).
Objectives
The project aims to develop a holistic approach to circular economies as well as innovative solutions and new working methodologies through practices of contemporary artistic practice, corroborated with critical pedagogies. The project will therefore also address the need to reform our learning systems to better our societies, to transition towards more sustainability and circularity and face the 21st century challenges.
