Inês Vieira

Inês Vieira is assistant professor at Lusófona University, with a focus on education and/for development, and integrated researcher at CeiED – Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Education and Development. She has a PhD (Doctor Europæus, NOVA FCSH and Università di Bologna) and a MSc (NOVA FCSH) in Human Ecology, and a BSE in Childhood Education (ESE/P.Porto).

Active in research, science management and communication since 2009, with previous grants in European and national projects on issues related to mobilities/migrations, social diversity, territory and ecology, education, youth and public policies. Currently she is the PI of ‘MUBIESUS – Public science and educational pathways for sustainability in museums and libraries in Lisbon and São Paulo’ (PE-CEIED-4/002/2023, 2024-2025), integrates the research teams at ‘AGGRIN - Generative bodies: from aggression to the insurgency. Contributions to a decolonial pedagogy’ (PTDC/CED-EDG/3644/2021-FCT, 2023-2026), 'In the urban: social inequalities, territorial disputes, displacements and the relationship with care and education experienced by women and children' (CNPq Universal 421079/2023-1, 2023-2026), and ‘Challenges of refugee student participation in Portuguese higher education’ (PE-CEIED-4/001/2024, 2025-2026), and she is engaged at social/educational intervention project for sustainability ‘Energia que move’ (EDP Energia Solidária, 2023-2025).

She is coordinator of ESA RN27 – Research Network on Southern European Societies of the European Sociological Association (2024-2026) and member of the nuclear committee of APS ST-SCEAV - Thematic Section on Civil Society, Diverse Economies and Volunteering of the Portuguese Sociological Association.

Within CeiED, she is engaged at the ReLeCo ART.DS – Socio-Artistic Studies for Decoloniality and Sustainability, a permanent team member of Op.Edu – Observatory for Education and Training Policies, a member of the Steering and Executive Committees of the research center, and director of the Public Science Forum.
