Colloquium on Pedagogical Innovation gathers more than 200 participants
The Colloquium Pedagogical Innovation: Approaches, Practices and Challenges took place on 26 March, organised by the OP.Edu – the Observatory for Education and Training Policies, in collaboration with ESEL-IPLUSO - IPLUSO's School of Education, and in partnership with António Sérgio Training Centre.
This was the opening colloquium of the thematic cycle that OP.Edu will dedicate to the issues of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in 2025, and aimed to present and discuss different experiences, pedagogical approaches and challenges related to pedagogical innovation and a transformative vision of education and school, capable of simultaneously contributing to the creation of relevant learning, inclusion and teachers' reflection and professional development.
The Colloquium, which brought together more than 200 participants, welcomed Flávia Vieira (University of Minho, President of the Specialised Commission “Pedagogical Innovation in Schools” of the National Education Council), Daniel Bart, (University of Toulouse 2 Jean Jaurès), Gérald Peyroche (Institute Villebon – Georges Charpak), Rita Campos and Cláudia Pato de Carvalho (CES – Centre for Social Studies, University of Coimbra) and Luís Manuel Bernardo (Coordinator of the Autonomous Section for General Education and Training of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities of NOVA University of Lisbon). The Colloquium was chaired by Teresa Teixeira Lopo (OP.Edu-CeiED, Lusófona University) and Ana Maria Seixas (OP.Edu-CES, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra).

CeiED researcher serves as external examiner in PhD viva at Lancaster University
On October 25, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM (Lisbon time), CeiED researcher Sónia Cardoso served as external examiner in the online PhD viva of Angelique Grech, at the invitation of the Department of Educational Research, Lancaster University, United Kingdom. The thesis, titled "Quality Assurance in a Small Island State and its Implications for Policy and Practice: Complex Patterns of Sensemaking in Maltese Higher Education", was supervised by Professor Paul Trowler, with Professor Murray Saunders acting as the internal examiner. The session was held entirely online and was restricted to the participants directly involved. This invitation highlights the international recognition of Sónia Cardoso’s expertise in higher education policy and reinforces the academic collaboration between CeiED and leading international research institutions.
