On December 3rd, Dalmo Dantas Gouveia delivered public exams for the doctoral thesis entitled “The expansion of higher education in Brazil through EaD: a study of graduates in the city of Aporá – BA”. The investigation was guided by Dr. Ana Maria Benavente da Silva Nuno; the jury was constituted as follows: President – Prof. Dr. António Teodor, arguers – Prof. Adriana Melo and Prof. Doctor João Pedro Fernandes, vocals – Prof. Doctor João Pedro Fernandes and Prof. Doctor Paulo Nunes.

On the 13th, 14th and 15th of December, the International Congress “Paulo Freire: a centenary of topicality” was held, organized by CeiED in partnership with the UNESCO-ULHT Chair “Education, Citizenship and Cultural Diversity”, with the support of the Institute Paulo Freire and the “António Sérgio” Teacher Training Center.

The event had 818 registered participants, from the African, European and American continents, from Universities, Research Centers, Museums, Schools, NGOs and Social and Associative Movements.

On the past 26 November, CIDATE researchers Nagayamma Aragão, Carlos Smaniotto Costa and Zuinder Manico, presented at the Conference on Regional and Urban Planning organized by the University of Aveiro, the communication entitled The elaboration of the Collaborative Dictionary on Territory and Environment of the CPLP Member Countries in the “parallel session 3. Governance”. In this paper, elaborated in the scope of the project Dicionário Ilustrado do Território e Ambiente | DITA (Illustrated Dictionary of Territory and Environment), the theoretical framework and the modulation of the platform architecture were presented, following the work developed in L3EP, focused on territory, environment, co-creation, citizen science.
