Last Tuesday, 29 October 2024, the Director of CeiED, António Teodoro, took part in the TSF Forum, presented by broadcaster Manuel Acácio, where the shortage of teachers was discussed, a situation that TSF presented as a ‘national emergency’.

In his participation (minute 52), António Teodoro defended the valorisation of the teaching profession (a position previously defended by another listener) but argued that there are other dimensions in the field of public policies that can contribute to improving the situation, namely by the political powers and regulatory bodies.

Another of the themes introduced by António Teodoro was the ‘colourisation’ of classrooms, focusing on multiculturalism in the profession.

As part of the IX International Congress for the Study of Mediation and Conflict, which took place at the University Centre of the Lusófona University, saw CeiED being represented by researchers Alcina de Oliveira Martins and Elisabete Pinto da Costa.

The Conference Committee, in which CeiED was represented, awarded the Dialogus Prize to the Porto local authority, represented by the Councillor for Education and Social Cohesion, Fernando Paulo.

The Dialogus Prize was jointly proposed by Lusófona University and the University of Minho, with the support of Complutense University.
