Master’s thesis in Educational Sciences, published in book
On the occasion of the commemoration of the 249 years of Sobral, municipality of Ceará, Brazil, Eliza Angélica Ponte, Master in Sciences of Education and current PhD student in Education, from Lusófona University, presents her Master’s dissertation in a book, on the TV Assembleia Ceará channel. This book reveals the trajectory of the development of Education in Sobral over two centuries (from 1750 to 1960), through the investigation and analysis of experiences of school institutions and the life history and biography of educators.

Constança Vasconcelos and Inês Marques, teachers of the Master’s Degree in Visual Arts Teaching, participated with the paper Creative practices in teacher’s training: the pedagogical-artistic toolbox, in the X Matéria Prima International Congress, which took place from 18 to 20 July.

Vítor Rosa, João Sampaio Maia and Daniela Mascarenhas, researchers at CeiED, publish a new scientific article in EduSer, of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. This article, entitled “O PISA 2015 e a resolução colaborativa de problemas: os resultados dos alunos portugueses”, presents an analysis of one of the literacy domains of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA): Collaborative Problem Solving (CPR).
Yet again school rankings: a monochromatic picture
Orlanda Tavares, an integrated researcher at CeiED and OP.Edu, critically reflected on the publication of the school rankings, in the newspaper Público, highlighting the negative effects these may have on schools, teachers, students and families. She also signaled the need to improve the educational system based on multidimensional information and not just monochromatic information, limited to cognitive performance indicators, such as the ones the publication of rankings seems to offer.
