Yet again school rankings: a monochromatic picture

Orlanda Tavares, an integrated researcher at CeiED and OP.Edu, critically reflected on the publication of the school rankings, in the newspaper Público, highlighting the negative effects these may have on schools, teachers, students and families. She also signaled the need to improve the educational system based on multidimensional information and not just monochromatic information, limited to cognitive performance indicators, such as the ones the publication of rankings seems to offer.

Inclusive Education: the current education paradigm in Portugal

On June 29, 2022, the integrated researcher of CeiED, Maria Odete Emygdio da Silva, presented a communication entitled Inclusive Education: the current education paradigm in Portugal, at the event Inclusive Teaching Practices – Creativity and Innovation using technologies of information and communication – PIECIT Our Inclusive Schools.

Participation in the II Academi@ STEM Mangualde Conference

The Academi@ STEM de Mangualde, in partnership with the EduFor Training Center, organized on the 8th and 9th of July, in person, the II Conference “Academi@ STEM Mangualde” in the Auditorium of the Municipal Library of Mangualde. They were part of the panel “Curriculum development in STEM areas – from theory to practice” together with the other ambassadors of Academi@, Vítor Teodoro, Professor Associate at Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias and Louise Lima, post-doctoral researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Education and Development at Universidade Lusófona.
